When multiple Stellar Award winner, Donald Lawrence, posted online “Please pray for Tasha Cobbs and family. Just got word that her father passed away suddenly just a few minutes ago,” many gasped. After winning three trophies for her album, “Grace,” the singer was hit with unfortunate news.
Bishop Fritz Cobbs had just been with his only daughter in Nashville to celebrate her musical victories. But something happened, about which details have not yet been released, that ended his life.
Before making his transition, Cobbs’ father was pastor of Jesup New Life Ministries in Jesup, GA. For years, this small city, with a population of just over 10,000, was Cobbs’ home until the singing sensation felt called of God to move to Atlanta in 2006.
There, the “Break Every Chain” singer’s ministry flourished under the leadership of Pastor William H. Murphy III of the "dReam Center," her now pastor and spiritual father.
For now, no further information is available.
Tasha Cobbs, her mother Bertha Cobbs, and their mourning family and friends are in our prayers at this time.
