Last week, 31-year-old “America’s Next Top Model” alum and actress Yaya DaCosta's effort to mimick the legendary singer Whitney Houston's photo from her 1987 album Whitney got social media buzzing.
Casting her as the one to play the late icon in a 2015 Lifetime television role appears to be the right choice if photo likeness is a determining factor.

What do you think?
In it, you see DaCosta’s co-star Arlen Escarpeta who is channeling his inner-Bobby for the made-for-television movie.
The two will attempt to make sparks fly on the small screen.
DaCosta, whose big and small screen appearances include "Ugly Betty" and most recently, "Lee Daniels' The Butler,” was hand-picked by director Angela Basset for a specific reason.
“I want you to fall into the world of Whitney and Bobby. And I don’t want to stop you at the gate with maybe the image of something familiar, someone you’ve seen from something else,” she said.
“Yaya was far and above the only choice.”
The film will largely focus on Whitney and Bobby's tumultuous relationship and nearly 15-year-marriage that ended in divorce.
Bassett will make her directorial debut with the film. Shem Bitterman wrote the script and Larry Sanitsky will produce.
